We woke up to another beautiful spring morning in Tokyo. The Sakura Hotel offered delicious homeade vegetable soup, smoothies, eggs and toast for breakfast. After some stretching and a jump roping sesh the squad skated 15 minutes through the Jimbocho district to our first spot of the day along the river in Kanda. Story continued below video. Yiyo, Caroline, JJ, Bonestalone and Leo got creative on the mellow bank with 1-inch PVC steel piping embedded in the cement for quick-footed combo grinds. Yiyo put in some work and rolled away with the ultimate banger: Ollie to grind up the pipe; kickflip fakie 5-0 back down.
Next we strolled through Chiyoda en route to Tokyo Central Station. Built in 1914 this is quite possibly the most magnificent train station ever constructed. After getting a sushi rolls and other snacks inside we jumped on the Yurikamome line to Ariake. This train ride was next level! En route we passed through Tokyo Bay, Tokyo Rinkai Satellite City Center and witnessed a massive street car exhibition taking place at Tokyo Big Site.
Fortunately Bonestalone, JJ, Yiyo and Richie knocked out tricks quick on the perfect hip before the fuzz rolled in. So we hit up the 7-11, jumped on the JR East line and prepped for another mission along the river. This time a hush-hush secret launcher over the corner of a set of stairs. As the sun was setting Yiyo rode away from a lofty 360 flip and moments later Brandon “Bonestalone” Bonner put down the frontside flip. FIVE was perched up on the bridge railing coppin’ the footy.
Later in the night near the Tokyo Tower, Eugenia snuck into a plaza and snagged a heelflip off a picture perfect bump. Our second full day in Tokyo was one for the books!
