Big Bear Mountain Resort announces a record-breaking early opening date for Snow Valley Bike Park....

We’re all frothing for bike park season as the snow begins to melt on the mountain tops, but for those in Southern California, bike park season might be coming sooner than expected as Big Bear Mountain Resort has just announced that Snow Valley Bike Park will be opening this Saturday, April 19, more than a month early than expected.

Season passes are on sale now and can be purchased at any Big Bear Mountain Resort ticket window or online at Bigbearmountainresort.com

This is the first time in the resort's history that it will offer skiing/riding and lift-accessed mountain biking on the same weekend. Due to it still being ski season, riders should expect a smaller-than-usual buffet of trail offerings on opening weekend at Snow Valley Bike Park. The talented trail crew is working to quickly and safely transition operations from the winter season that just wrapped up at Snow Valley. Contacts at BBMR have informed us that more terrain will open soon.

Moving forward, Snow Valley Bike Park will be open weekends only through the first weekend in June, at which time it will operate at its regular schedule. BBMR has also announced that the neighboring Summit Bike Park is tentatively scheduled to open on June 6, conditions and weather permitting.

A statement on the BBMR website shares more details on the shoulder season operations. "As the winter season comes to a close, we’re excited to announce a smooth transition into summer activities. Starting April 19, Snow Valley will open for summer fun with downhill mountain biking, hiking, scenic sky chair rides, and delicious food offerings. For the first time ever, we’ll be operating both winter and summer activities simultaneously."

Snow Summit wrapped up its winter operations on April 13, and the team is excited to announce that the bike park is set to open on June 6th. Due to the double-edged blade of a bountiful and heavy snowpack, the team will take extra time to ensure the park is perfectly ready for summer riding. Bike park season is here!
