Skiing is expensive, and it doesn't help that the daily lift ticket is all but dead at many major ski resorts scattered across the United States.
While passes such as Epic and Ikon offer cheaper per-day rates, depending on how often you utilize the pass, purchasing a walk-up lift ticket at ski resorts like Breckenridge, Deer Valley, and Steamboat will cost more than $200 and can spike to over $300 on Holidays and peak periods.
The shift to these mega-passes has expanded the frequency with which some folks ski, but they have hampered the spontaneous day tripper looking to make turns in the middle of the week.
We all know inflation is rampant, and the cost of living is only getting worse. So, with those doom-and-gloom facts in mind, the POWDER staff cooked up a question to get to the bottom of the issue.
We want to know your honest answer to the following question: How Much Are You Willing To Pay for a Lift Ticket? Note, however, that we're not asking you to divulge the most expensive lift ticket that you can afford. Rather, we want to know the maximum cost you're willing to pay for a day of skiing out of principle.
To use a real-world example, Palisades Tahoe is an awesome ski resort, but could you stomach forking out over $250 to ski one day there?
