Nestled in the mountains of eastern Washington, Cle Elum is one of those classic, quiet mountain towns surrounded by natural beauty in every direction. And thanks to Grindline Skateparks—one of the most respected names in skatepark design and construction—that beauty is about to include a brand-new concrete paradise.
We’ve been following this build for nearly a year, from concept sketches to the first pours of concrete to now, watching it take shape has been an absolute treat. Now, with Phase 2 officially underway, the dream is becoming a reality.
Grindline recently shared a fresh update on Instagram, saying, "Pulled a frosty finish in Cle Elum! Phase 2 is a go." Check out the latest progress shots:

It might not be the biggest skatepark in the world, but that’s beside the point. Grindline clearly maximized every inch of space here, and by doing so, they've created something truly special for Cle Elum’s local skaters. You know the community is hyped!
This build is a perfect reminder that skateboarding has no boundaries—from coast to coast, deep in the mountains, across deserts, in countless cities worldwide—and that simple notion gets me so stoked. No matter where you are in the world, there's somewhere nearby to get rad.

With Phase 2 officially underway, I'm sure the locals are getting extra anxious, but patience is important right now. As fun as this place already looks, locals in the area still need to respect the space and let this crew do what they need to do to finalize the project. Don't worry, the finish line is in sight!
Grindline is as real as it gets—for skateboarders, by skateboarders—and the work they've done over the past few decades is nothing short of remarkable. From some of the biggest, most impressive skateparks in the world, to perfect little nuggets like this and everything in between, their work certainly doesn't go unnoticed.
Can't wait for this gem to open! Nice work, dudes. Keep charging.
