Get your first look at this new plaza-style skate park in South San Francisco. We interviewed Parks Manager Joshua Richardson who explained how they got input from skaters all over the Bay Area, of all different ages, to get this epic park made right. Ryen Motzek, owner of Atlas Skateshop, one of the pillars of the South San Francisco scene, explained how the designers took cues from SF's Union Square and wanted the park to feel open and unlike any sort of caged-in skate park.

You can see the similarities in the ledges and banks of the Federal Banks too. Director of Parks and Rec, Greg Mediati, explains the importance of listening to the community and getting the park built right. We know all too well what it's like when park designers get the contract from the city without any skater input and you end up with a crap park.
